gryffindor head of house
Professor Ignatius Noble had his hands full this term, stuck in a castle full of kids trying to remember what day it was while having to instruct classes and lead the badgers of Hufflepuff. Though circumstances weren't ideal, he did what he does best and handled the situation with a level head and a watchful eye. We had the chance to sit down with the potions prof and learn a little more about his role as head of house.
Being a Professor and a head of house must be a super lot of hard work! How do you let loose when you're not keeping the Hufflepuffs alive and preventing kids from blowing up the potions lab? You’re not kidding. When I do find some time between the steady stream of visitors to the lab and my office, I like to catch up on the sports pages of The Daily Prophet and the Manchester Evening News with a cup of strong black coffee and something sweet…the latter of which is regularly provided by my baking-inclined Hufflepuffs. Of course, with no delivery owls for most of the year, I turned to the library for reading instead…and found a new hobby brewing the muggle way. The results turned out pretty palatable. Leading the badgers is a big job, but someone's got to do it. What would you say is your leadership style? Firm but fair. And for the most part, that’s enough. In your opinion, what's the absolute best part about the Hufflepuff common room? Inquiring minds want to know. Do they indeed. Well…that would be telling, wouldn’t it? Though, the proximity to the kitchens is a definite perk. How do you feel the Hufflepuff prefects did this term in helping you guide the badgers and keep them on the right path? They did a great job, despite the challenging circumstances. I know it wasn’t easy keeping track of ourselves, let alone a whole house, but they’re dependable when I need them, and won’t let a fellow Badger flounder alone. Would you change anything about how this past term played out? I wouldn’t mind switching out the part where we got stuck inside a huge magical storm. Of all the things Hogwarts has thrown at me as a Professor, being completely disconnected from the rest of the world has got to have been one of the worst. I’m sure I’m not the only one to have missed some big family events this year…and I have some very overdue Christmas presents to deliver when I finally get home. I just hope they won’t have grown out of them already. |
